The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (www.wcit.org.uk) was created as the 100th Livery Company in the City of London. Its aims are charity, education and fellowship.
Charity : At the heart of the activities of a modern Livery Company lies a deep commitment to philanthropy. In this, the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists follows the long tradition of Livery Companies which in 2010 gave a total of £41.85 million to charitable causes, including Education, Welfare (and Relief in need), the Arts and Trade related charities.
Education: Information technology can transform the learning process and make it widely available to all in society. The Company applies its IT management and entrepreneurial skills to promote equal access to learning and to help educational organisations improve the learning experience.
Fellowship : The Company has an active social calendar centred round popular leisure interests, bringing members together for mutual enjoyment, promoting cohesiveness and providing natural, informal routes into the Company for non-members.
